About my work

An accomplished marketing and technical writer, I’ve worked with big and small companies in a variety of industries–each with their own distinct challenges. From folksy, friendly marketing content at a local grocery chain to highly technical employee training at a leading fintech company, my work exudes a commitment to curiosity and versatility. Curiosity drives me. Collaboration drives my outcomes. With an established track record of content creation for internal and external audiences, including in highly-regulated industries, I understand how to adapt to unique needs in an ever-changing world.

Keeping people safe with data-driven content at Intuit

Intuit

As the content lead for Intuit security training content, I was responsible for annual content refreshes and ad hoc updates. I collaborated closely with security leaders, subject matter experts, and software developers to make highly technical content accessible to everyone at Intuit. I leaned on my curiosity and adaptability to expand my knowledge and bring others along that journey to find new ways to help keep people safe.

Despite the ostensible technical writing focus of my role, I drove security awareness outreach efforts that called on my marketing skills to match messaging with audience. Outreach efforts included high-profile, company-wide promotional events for employees, and training compliance initiatives throughout the year. I believe in knowing your audience as well as you can, and I tailored security awareness content for customers to their specific needs, managing content on security.intuit.com.

Examples:

  • External security training outreach on security.intuit.com

  • Security training (seven courses, a general training for all employees and six secure coding courses for developers)

  • Technical documentation (recording specific content updates, technical details, and other requirements)

  • Team communications strategy (researching, planning, and enhancing the security team’s position as thought leaders)

  • Internal security awareness outreach (promotions, driving training compliance)

Midland Credit Management (MCM)

Embracing new ideas and empowering success at MCM

Contributing to the newly formed digital marketing team as a copywriter, I helped MCM create a new paradigm for their marketing. Digital marketing was a major departure for a company dependent on traditional marketing channels. I was the content lead for all digital marketing efforts. In addition to leading written and visual content creation, I also served as the team’s liaison to the MCM legal team. In a risk-adverse environment within a highly-regulated industry, creativity and strong working relationships with internal partners was critical. There was no playbook for what we were doing and I’m proud of the innovations we made.

Scripps Health

Connecting people with life-changing care at Scripps Health in San Diego

Scripps is a legacy health system in San Diego, CA. I helped marketing leads optimize their content for success on the web. My hybrid role required a diverse skill set. Responsible for copywriting, editing, multimedia content, SEO, and building/maintaining the website, I helped Scripps enhance their content. My technical and content expertise, combined with marketing leads’ familiarity with their audience, increased traffic, generated leads, and converted those leads.

Town & Country Markets, Inc.

Maintaining fantastic brand reputation without paid advertising at T&C in Seattle

Beloved in the neighborhoods they serve, T&C has a trusted and well known brand in the Seattle area. Focusing primarily on copywriting, I took on a variety of marketing tasks for this role, including conducting interviews, visual media creation, physical marketing asset creation, and web content management. As a member of a small team, my diverse skill set again helped me drive our outcomes.
